THE CALLIGRAPHY PROCESS

Nothing says custom more than the art of calligraphy! At Cherish, we appreciate how hand lettering elevates any project – from envelopes and place cards, to branding and social stationery. Each project is tailored to your specific needs and no project is too small! We love writing out wedding vows or love letters as gifts just as much as we enjoy hand addressing 200+ wedding envelopes.

LET'S CHAT

Our process begins with a conversation which can be done in person, over the phone or with Skype/FaceTime. Don’t live in Texas? Not a problem! We work with clients from all over the country. In our initial conversation we’ll discuss you, your wedding and any specific inspiration you have for your invitations. Feel free to bring pictures, swatches or anything that inspires you!

THE ESTIMATE

After our initial meeting, we send a written estimate. This estimate is based on what we discussed during our initial conversation: lettering style, ink colors, and any specific design elements for your project. Your estimate is specifically tailored to your needs and we strive to make this process as easy as possible. Once you receive your estimate, please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions. Your project is placed on our production calendar upon approval of the estimate and payment of a 25% deposit.

THE WORDS

Once you’re officially on our calendar, we’ll get started on your project! In order to get started, we’ll need the final version of your words – addresses for envelopes, names for place cards, wedding vows for special artwork, initials for a monogram, business name for a logo, etc. Check out our FAQ page for more information.

Errors and ink splatter are inevitable with hand-written work, so please be sure to order extra envelopes, place cards, etc. We request at least 15-20% extra to accommodate for these errors and ink splatter as well as any last minute additions to the guest list. If you’re already working with us for your stationery design, we’ve got you covered and your estimate includes these extras!

All lists must be submitted in the exact format you want them written, so please go through your list thoroughly before submission. Lists should be submitted in a word processing or spreadsheet using the following formal or informal format – additional information is available:

STUFFING & SEALING

Stuffing, sealing, and prepping your invitations, holiday cards, or announcements for mailing can be time consuming and we understand how busy life can be. For this reason, we offer a stuffing and sealing service in which our team assembles, seals, and drops the final product in the mail for you! We pick up the necessary postage from the post office and add the expense to your final invoice as a separate line item. Do you want your invitations mailed from your home town? No problem! We’ll ship everything to you ready to go, so all you have to do is drop the completed envelopes at the post office.

THE HANDOFF

Your deposit is applied to the final balance on your invoice, and all invoices must be paid in full prior to the handoff of your final project. If you will be in the Dallas area, we are more than happy to handoff your items in person! Otherwise, all projects are shipped via UPS, USPS or FedEx to the address provided by you. Please let us know if the final destination is a P.O. Box and we’ll ship your items via USPS with tracking capability.
